Reece Realty Newcastle provides student accommodation in a large range of fully furnished rental properties in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. This style of accommodation offers International and Australian students the opportunity to share a rental property with other students, to learn about different cultures and to make new friends.

We accommodate students from around the world. We understand the importance of a student's decision to study overseas. Quality student accommodation at an affordable price can make a difference to this "once in a lifetime" opportunity.

All properties are easily accessible to the University by foot or regular public transport and are located close to shops and public transport to ensure convenient shopping and easy access to the city centre and education institutions. The rental properties are all located within two bus zones from the city centre. These properties have been set up especially for students and offer convenience and security.

Student/Shared Accommodation
This is a single room (with individual lock) and shared communal areas i.e. kitchen, living/ dining rooms and bathrooms in either fully furnished flats, units, houses or townhouses. Tenants provide their own food and they do their own cooking. The rooms are typically furnished with a single bed and good mattress, wardrobe with three drawers, study desk, desk light and desk chair. Payment of 4 weeks bond is required. Some rooms may be available for short term lease by negotiation.

Studio Apartments
Modern and private! Tenants will enjoy the privacy of their own kitchen and bathroom. These apartments are typically furnished with a single or double bed and good mattress, wardrobe with three drawers, study desk, desk light and desk chair. The kitchens are complete with bar fridge, stove and basic cooking appliances and utensils.
Unfurnished Accommodation

For students who have there own furniture and household supplies, unfurnished accommodation is extremely popular. Please be aware that electricity and water costs are not included in unfurnished properties

All properties require students to sign a Residential Tenancy Agreement for 9 - 12 months and pay a bond, which is equivalent to four weeks rent. This bond is lodged with the Office of Fair Trading ( ) and is not held by our office.

House Rules

  • NO PETS are permitted on the premises at any time.
  • NO SMOKING is permitted inside the premises at any time
  • NOISE – Please remember the other occupants and neighbours have a right to quiet enjoyment. Noise is to be kept at a reasonable level at all times.
  • SECURITY - THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT – You are responsible for the security of these premises. To protect the owners property, your own and that of your fellow students, you must ENSURE that both the front and back doors are LOCKED when you leave the house. This applies if you open a window in the common area. NEVER assume someone is still in the house when you are leaving. We also recommend that your room be locked when you are not at home to ensure your own personal privacy and security. We advise that you insure your contents as the owners insurance does not cover your belongings at all.
  • CLEANING – The common areas of the house are to be kept clean and tidy at all times for the pleasant enjoyment of all the occupants. Food or dirty dishes left on the table or sink attracts flies, ants, rodents and cockroaches. We suggest a roster system be arranged for fair distribution of cleaning duties to the mutual satisfaction of all occupants.
  • BREAKAGE, DAMAGE OR LOSS OF COMMON PROPERTY – The owner has provided comfortable furnishings & appliances for your convenience. Every care should be taken to ensure that the owners’ property is cared for and all furniture and appliances are used as they were intended and no unnecessary damage is incurred by incorrect or dangerous use. Accidental breakage or loss of crockery, cutlery, utensils Etc, MUST BE REPLACED with an item of similar type and value. (An inventory of all items and furniture contained in the property is kept at the agents office.) Break-downs and malfunctions of appliances such as the hot water system, refrigerator, microwave, television or washing machine MUST BE REPORTED IMMEDIATELY TO REECE REALTY NEWCASTLE.

NEW TENANCIES – If you have a friend who may wish to occupy a vacant room in this house, PLEASE REFER THEM TO THE MANAGING AGENTS OFFICE. Prospective tenants MUST be accompanied by an agent to view the rooms available.

WHEN VACATING – Please, at the end of your stay, leave your room clean and tidy ( as you found it) so that the next occupant may have a pleasant and healthy environment also. Our office will arrange for the room to be cleaned and this cost will be taken from your bond if the room is not cleaned.

PLEASE NOTE: Our office hours are as follows; Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm & Saturday 9.00am to 1.00PM (Not including Public Holidays).

All tenants wishing to vacate these premises must do so during office hours. Prior Arrangements must be made with this office.
